The headquarters team of the WFPHA comprises public health experts and specialists in their domains. They are the backbone of the WFPHA, which ensures that our leadership’s public health strategy and guidance are carried out and can be spread globally. Beyond the headquarters team, our organization comprises an Advisory Board, the Governing Council, and committees.
Prof. Bettina Borisch
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Prof. Bettina Borisch established the Geneva headquarters in 2005 at the Geneva University. She has served as the CEO of the WFPHA since then. Prof Borisch is an MD, a historian, and a professor of Public Health. She is a professor emerita at the Institute of Global Health at the University of Geneva. She has post-graduate training and academic career as a Histopathologist, holds an MPH, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathology. She has directed the headquarters since its relocation to Geneva and represents WFPHA in the broadest sense. She is the co-editor of the Journal of Public Health Policy Federation’s Pages.
Dr. Marta Lomazzi
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Dr. Lomazzi started working for WFPHA in 2011. She is a medical biotechnologist and holds a PhD in Neurosciences. Her main responsibilities include strategic planning, management and evaluation of public health programs, collaboration with members and partners, and fundraising. She is the co-editor of the Journal of Public Health Policy Federation’s Pages.
Martinique Jobin
Communications Manager
Ms. Jobin started working for the WPFHA in 2024. She holds a degree in Political Science and brings over 13 years of experience across various sectors, including education, tech, and water. Her primary responsibilities include brand strategy, global communications, and website and social media management.
Maria Del Mar Mata
Administrative Manager
Mrs. Mata started working for the WFPHA in 2020. She holds diplomas in Accounting and Administration and Finance. Her main responsibilities include general office administration, general accounting, human resources, events organization, external relations with WFPHA’s members, and assisting with governance-related requests.
